If you're outside the Greater Rochester area, please contact us! We offer extended service for an additional fee based on travel time and fuel costs.
How It Works
• Dr. Shamus will arrive at your home, office, or preferred location at the scheduled appointment time and begin setting up the treatment space.
• If you have a favorite spot—such as a chair, couch, or meditation/yoga room—acupuncture can be administered there, as long as the necessary points are accessible. We also provide a mobile therapy table for your convenience. The most important factor is that you're comfortable.
• We recommend choosing a quiet, softly lit space for your session. To enhance relaxation, we bring portable lighting and sound treatment, and we also offer a therapeutic eye mask and high-quality noise-canceling headphones if preferred.
• Once the space is set up, we'll review your intake form and ask a few follow-up questions to determine the best course of treatment.
• At this point, you’ll receive acupuncture! You’ll rest with the needles for about 30 to 45 minutes, depending on your preference.
• Mobile sessions require additional time for setup and breakdown. Please plan for a two-hour window, with approximately one hour of actual treatment time.

Please Note: Mobile acupuncture sessions require a significant time commitment, as they take us away from the office and other patients. Because of this, we require at least 48 hours' notice for cancellations.
Cancellations made with less than 48 hours' notice will be charged the full session fee. You can cancel anytime via the patient portal. Please note that cancellations made via email, phone, or text outside regular business hours may not be processed in time and could be considered late.
